Job description

This role is essential for managing and supporting the firewall and broader network infrastructure within public healthcare environments. The Level 2 Network Engineer will work collaboratively with Level 1 and other Level 2/3 teams to ensure secure, stable, and efficient network operations across multiple locations. Key Responsibilities: Provide Level 2 support for firewall and intrusion prevention systems (IPS) —handling setup, rule management, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Collaborate with Level 1 and other Level 2/3 teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal network performance. Develop and maintain technical documentation for network infrastructure and firewall configurations. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in network security and firewall management. Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement process improvements. Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure network operations align with organizational goals. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure optimal network performance. Provide Level 2 support for network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and other network devices. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues in a timely and efficient manner. Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement process improvements. Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders to ensure network operations align with organizational goals. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and partners to ensure optimal network performance. Key Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 2+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on firewall management. Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with firewall management tools, such as Cisco ASA or Juniper SRX. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
