Network Engineer - Optical

What will you do?

As a Network Engineer Optical, you will work within the Optical team of the Network Operations organization. You are the specialist who daily deals with managing, improving and renewing our optical network.

Specifically, this means that you:

• Solve and deeply analyze incidents on the optical network.
• Execute configurations and implement changes on DWDM- and optical transmission platforms.
• Collaborate on implementing new optical equipment and related software.
• Perform operational lifecycle tasks, such as software upgrades and decommissioning of outdated equipment.
• Work together with Network Designers and Architects to set up technical changes and test them.
• Signal trends in performance and brainstorm improvements and innovations.
• Actively transfer knowledge to colleagues and support the buildup of expertise within the team and towards other departments.
• Maintain documentation and procedures for a smooth handover to colleagues.
