Network Engineer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join its international Network Operations team. This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, business-critical infrastructure and help keep customer-facing services secure, resilient, and performing at their best.

You’ll work across a multidisciplinary environment spanning several European countries, with infrastructure built primarily on Cisco switches and routers (IOS and NX-OS), Check Point firewalls, and F5 load balancers. You’ll play a hands-on role in day-to-day operations, major incident resolution, and the evolution of enterprise network and security services.

What you’ll do:

Operate, administer, and improve enterprise network and security infrastructure.

Troubleshoot complex routing, switching, firewall, and load-balancing issues.

Support incident management and lead or contribute to root cause analysis for major incidents.

Plan, test, and deploy network changes, including implementation and rollback plans.

Contribute to low-level designs and network infrastructure improvements.

Partner with infrastructure, security, application, and engineering teams across multiple locations.

Coordinate with vendors and external suppliers when needed.

Help ensure infrastructure meets architecture standards, security policies, and operational requirements.

Take part in scheduled out-of-hours changes and standby rotation when required.

What you’ll bring:

Strong hands-on enterprise routing and switching experience.

Solid knowledge of IP networking, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, BGP, OSPF, VRF, and VXLAN.

Experience with Cisco routers and switches, including IOS and NX-OS.

Data-center networking experience, ideally with Cisco Nexus and spine-leaf architectures.

A strong understanding of network security, firewall policies, segmentation, and secure network design.

Hands-on enterprise firewall experience; Check Point is preferred.

Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.

Background supporting multi-site, multi-data-center, or international enterprise environments.

Familiarity with operational processes such as ITIL-style incident, change, and problem management, along with security or regulatory requirements.

Experience with monitoring and operational reporting, using tools and protocols such as syslog, SNMP, or NetFlow.

Experience with proxy technologies; HAProxy is preferred.

Good English communication skills.

Nice to have:

F5 BIG-IP or another load-balancing platform.

Linux knowledge.

Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure.

Work arrangement and contract:

Hybrid: a few office days per month.

Employment contract: CIM only.
