Network Engineer

Network Engineer – LAN/WAN (Senior / Level 3) Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (LAN/WAN) to join our global infrastructure team. In this role, you will design, deploy, and maintain complex network environments while providing advanced Level 3 support for critical incidents. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure high availability, security, and performance across enterprise network systems. Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage LAN/WAN infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices. Provide Level 3 support for network incidents, troubleshoot complex network issues, and perform root cause analysis. Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize network efficiency. Configure and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems and services. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network issues. Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and trends, and recommend improvements to the network infrastructure. Mentor and train junior network engineers. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on LAN/WAN technologies. Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS. Experience with network security technologies, such as firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto Networks), VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG). Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CISSP) are a plus. Preferred Skills Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
