MOTOR MECHANIC
Job description
Motor mechanic position available at an automotive business “Melville Motors A Pty Ltd and Melville Motors S Pty Ltd”, located in O’Connor WA 6163. Prospective applicants must have good practical experience working as a motor mechanic. Duties include:
- Standard servicing of light vehicle engines - oil change, oil filter change, air filter change & lubrication
- Transmission service including installation and removal of transmissions.
- Conduct tests to diagnose both mechanical and electrical issues.
- Conduct pressure tests to diagnose hydraulic problems
- Inspect and maintain exhaust system, fuel injection system, test air-intake system for leakage and tuning of fuel & ignition systems
- Use of computer-based scan tools for fault finding and repair.
- Repair and diagnosis of air conditioning systems
- Repair and servicing of steering & suspension systems, braking systems, clutch assemblies, and final drive assemblies.
- Install and repair various pumps such as hydraulic, sump, lubrication, centrifugal and pneumatic pumps
- Maintain and check radiators, thermostats & replace thermostats if necessary
- Repair and install lights such as fluorescents, high bay, spots, and normal light fittings.
- Install new electrical panels, fitting and setting new points, checking battery, and charging systems
- Discuss problems with car drivers or vehicle operators to discover faults and order parts.
In return for your commitment and skills, you will receive a competitive salary package ($77,000 plus Super) and receive ongoing training with opportunities to develop your skills and career. Applicants with formal qualifications (AQF Certificate 4 in automotive or Certificate 3 in automotive with 1 - 2 years of industry experience) will be prioritized. Position is available full time, 38 hours/week but applicant must be available for 6 days/week and willing to work odd hours (Weekend, late shifts & public holidays). Another mandatory requirement is a driving license & a vehicle.
