Motor Mechanic

About the role
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team. As a motor mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles. Your duties will include conducting vehicle inspections, order necessary parts, and ensuring high-quality service delivery both in the workshop and, when required, off-site.

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, engine tune-ups, and lubrication, to ensure vehicles run efficiently and meet environmental standards.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicle engines and components using both manual techniques and computerized diagnostic tools.
• Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other parts to examine components for wear or damage.
• Repair or replace faulty, worn, or defective parts, using service manuals and technical references as required.
• Reassemble engines and mechanical systems accurately following repair or maintenance work.
• Test and adjust mechanical parts to confirm proper operation after repairs or replacements.
• Inspect vehicles to determine roadworthiness and, if certified, issue compliance certificates or outline required repairs.
• Respond to on-site vehicle breakdowns and provide emergency mechanical assistance when necessary.

Skills and experience

• Must have an experience of more than 1 year working as a Motor Mechanic.
• Applicant must have a Certificate III in Automotive or a higher qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow the procedures accurately.
• Excellent time management skills to meet the deadlines.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
