Remuneration : $75,000 – $80,000 per year + Super

Position – Motor Mechanic to work at our workshop at Hawthorn SA 5062

About the Role

Successful candidate will carry out proactive and preventative maintenance and inspections on light vehicles and mobile equipment, with corrective maintenance, and continuous scoping improvement in mind. This is a permanent full time position.

Qualifications & experience

  • automotive Mechanical Technology Trade Certificate with 1-2 years post trade experience;
  • experience in maintaining light vehicles
  • willingness to contribute toward the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture.
  • proactive attitude towards preventive and reliability centered maintenance and commitment to safety;
  • understanding of job safety analysis;
  • understanding of basic maintenance terminology;

Competencies

  • current Australian drivers license or ability to attain within 1 months of commencement

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Servicing of vehicles as per manufacturer’s guidelines and manuals
  • Performing schedule maintenance services, including oil change, lubrication and engine tuning as per manufacturer specifications.
  • Test and repair electrical systems such as lighting, instrumentation, ignition, and electronic fuel injection
  • Following occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Diagnoses, repairs and overhauls engines, transmissions, components, electrical and fuel systems, etc. for range of different cars.
  • Repair exhaust, brakes, hydraulic, electrical suspension, and fuel ignition of automotive vehicles.
  • Performs tune ups, brake jobs and other preventative maintenance.
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies, using various instruments to make sure they are working properly and putting them back into the vehicle
  • Maintain and manage tools, equipment, and machinery in good condition.
  • Cleanliness of workshop, working with protective clothing and gear, adherence to safety at work for yourself and others.
