The Mortuary Supervisor will play a key leadership role within the Mortuary team at Vincent Funerals in Burnie, Tasmania. This position offers a great opportunity for individuals looking to relocate, as it combines professional expertise in mortuary operations with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Duties of the Mortuary Supervisor include:
- Perform body preparation including washing, dressing, suturing, cosmetology, and encoffining
- Supervise daily workflow and allocate duties among mortuary assistants and embalmers
- Maintain hygiene and infection control procedures across mortuary facilities and equipment
- Participate in funeral services, transfers, viewings, and vehicle operations
- Monitor stock levels and prepare supply orders to support daily operations
- Complete mortuary registration and checking procedures with accuracy
- Assist with crematorium operations and maintenance of property, lawns, and gardens
- Participate in the on-call roster and respond to operational needs as required
- Handle deceased with dignity and respect while supporting grieving families professionally
- Be at ease with death, the expression of grief and handling deceased people.
- Show integrity by being honest, ethical and trustworthy.
- Broad operational management experience in in a service-driven organisation
- Ability to manage employees operating across multiple sites, structures and environment
- In a fit state of physical and psychological health to be able to handle the inherent requirements of the role.
- Ability to move between strategy and operational execution.
- Proven track record of driving and managing business process and cultural change
- Experience in developing and maintaining relationships.
- Current Driver's License
- Mortuary Technicians/Embalmers qualifications desirable
- Valid work Rights
