XRbit gUG develops innovative digital applications for education, research, and culture. Our focus is on Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and interactive learning technologies.

Together with universities, research institutions, companies, and educational partners, we develop new ways of knowledge transfer – from virtual training environments to digital further education offerings.

We are looking for full-time reinforcement to build and continuously develop our Moodle-based learning platform.

Your Responsibilities

You will play a central role in the conception, design, and further development of our digital learning offerings. You will combine technical possibilities with creative media design and didactic understanding.

Your Focus Areas:

• Moodle Platform: You will design the structure of our learning platform, develop course concepts, and utilize the diverse possibilities of Moodle and its extensions.

• Interactive Learning Content: You will create varied learning modules with H5P, interactive videos, quiz formats, learning games, branching scenarios, and multimedia exercises.

• 2D Animation and Media Design: You will develop clear graphics, simple animations, explanatory sequences, and visual elements for our digital courses.

• Didactic Conception: You will translate complex subject matter into understandable, motivating, and target-group-appropriate learning offerings. This includes learning objectives, learning paths, exercises, and feedback mechanisms.

• Further Development and Innovation: You will test new Moodle functions, plugins, and authoring tools and develop ideas on how AI, gamification, and, in perspective, VR/AR content can be meaningfully integrated into learning processes.

• Quality Assurance: You will test learning offerings with a focus on comprehensibility, user-friendliness, accessibility, and learning success.

You will work closely with our development team and subject-matter project partners. For more complex technical tasks, such as server administration, programming, or interface development, you will be supported by our software developers.

Your Profile

We are looking for a versatile personality who combines technical curiosity, creativity, and a passion for knowledge transfer.

What you should bring:

• Practical experience with Moodle or comparable learning management systems and the willingness to engage intensively with Moodle.

• Experience in creating digital learning content, especially interactive exercises, quiz formats, or multimedia courses.

• Knowledge of H5P or comparable authoring tools.

• Skills in visual design and ideally practical experience in creating 2D animations, for example with After Effects, Adobe Animate, Rive, or comparable tools.

• Didactic understanding and the ability to transform subject matter into meaningfully structured learning processes.

• An independent, structured way of working and enjoyment in trying out new tools and technologies.

• Good German language skills for creating and coordinating German-language learning content.

Of particular interest are also:

• Experience with gamification, adaptive learning paths, or playful learning formats.

• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or customization of Moodle themes and plugins.

• Experience with SCORM, xAPI, or the integration of external learning applications.

• Knowledge in vocational education, adult education, or media pedagogy.

• Experience with AI-supported tools for creating learning materials, graphics, and animations.

A specific degree is not crucial for us. Whether you acquired your skills through studies, an apprenticeship, professional experience, or self-study: what matters is what you can practically implement.

You don't need to master everything already. What's important to us is that you can combine several of these areas and enjoy learning new topics.
