Monitoring & Observability Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, and manage open-source monitoring platforms for hybrid-cloud environments.
• Optimize monitoring rules to enhance performance and minimize downtime.
• Analyze monitoring alerts, collaborate with experts for troubleshooting, and drive root-cause resolution.
• Handle incidents, changes, and service requests through email and ServiceNow, and participate in on-call rotations for critical incidents.
• Create custom dashboards and reports to meet customer SLAs.
• Automate routine tasks and enhance integrations using APIs and webhooks.
• Document architectures and best practices, and train colleagues in monitoring tools.

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science or related field with 3-5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in Nagios, Icinga, Checkmk, or Prometheus, and scripting languages like Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Strong Linux administration skills and familiarity with virtualization and cloud concepts.
• Experience with ITIL processes and ticketing tools, preferably ServiceNow.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively in German and English.
