Job description

Role Overview This position plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and availability of injection molds and tooling within a high-volume manufacturing plant. The Lead Engineer oversees the tool shop operation, drives tooling strategy, and partners cross-functionally with production, quality, safety, and engineering teams to optimize plant performance in terms of safety, cost, quality, and delivery. The role combines technical leadership, operational execution, and continuous improvement to achieve business objectives. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and implementing a comprehensive tooling strategy that aligns with the company's overall manufacturing strategy. • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. • Providing technical guidance and support to production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve tooling-related issues and improve overall efficiency. • Conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurring defects or downtime. • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of high-quality molds and tooling. • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve processes and optimize plant performance. • Providing leadership and guidance to junior engineers and technicians to develop their skills and knowledge. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. • Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role. • Strong understanding of injection molding processes, tooling design, and manufacturing principles. • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
