Job description

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

· Attend to the maneuvers of the vessel, manning the post to which you have been assigned;

· Assist during mooring, suspending, docking, undocking, entering and exiting locks and other operations related to the vessel's activity, as requested by your superior;

· Receive and transport materials belonging to the deck section to the storage areas;

· Familiarize yourself with the equipment for moving cargo and operate it when necessary, considering that you have received training;

· Execute necessary services for the vessel's conservation, such as treatment, cleaning, and painting the deck and superstructure;

· Perform general services in other areas of the vessel as requested by the Officer in Charge, through the Chief Officer;

· Swab and sweeten the vessel;

· Participate in tank cleaning when requested by the Officer in Charge and/or Chief Engineer;

· Execute services for the conservation of safety and salvage equipment on the vessel;

· Execute services for the conservation of equipment on the deck, workshop, tools, etc.

· Assist the Chief Officer in all deck-related tasks, including sounding;

· Execute necessary services for the conservation of your own cabin;

· Position firefighting material near the fuel intake when performing oil transfer;

· Place or remove ladders for boarding or disembarking the pilot and hoist and lower flags and signs designated by the Officer of the Watch;

· Execute daily cleaning of the passageway;

· Check if your 'Maritime Health Certificate' is valid and ensure that your renewal is done before its expiration;

· Participate in integrated tasks;

· Work with care and technique, using necessary PPE to perform your duties safely and requiring others involved to do the same;

· Know your function and the other tasks described in the emergency task table for the vessel;

· Inform yourself about the distribution and operation of safety and salvage equipment on the vessel;

· Participate in risk assessments before activities.

Requirements

What is essential that you present:

  • CIR II/4 valid;
  • TBS, EBCP valid;
  • Experience as a deckhand in offshore operations.

You will stand out if you have:

  • CERR, CESS;
  • Experience in Welding and Blacksmithing
  • Experience in vessels of the type AHTS, RSV, PLSV or similar;
