Do you enjoy writing, think editorially, and want to contribute to making the perspectives of psychotherapists visible in politics and the public sphere? Can you prepare complex health policy issues precisely, comprehensibly, and in a media-friendly manner? Then join our team in Press and Public Relations.

The Federal Association of Contract Psychotherapists (Bundesverband der Vertragspsychotherapeuten e.V. - bvvp) is the umbrella organization of 16 independent state associations. With around 6,000 medical and psychological psychotherapists, as well as child and adolescent psychotherapists, the association represents the interests of its members and contributes the perspective of psychotherapy to the health policy debate.

Responsibilities

You will work in a small team with different areas of focus. Depending on the need, you will take on tasks in the areas of press relations, editorial work, website, social media, as well as in the context of events and campaigns.

  • You will write and edit texts for our print magazine, the website, for member information, and professional publications. You will prepare health policy and professional topics in a comprehensible, precise, and target-group-oriented manner.
  • You will be involved editorially in drafts for press releases, statements, and position papers.
  • You will maintain and update the content of our website.
  • You will support events, campaigns, and other association communication measures.
  • You will create posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook and adapt content to the respective channels.

Qualifications

  • Completed university degree in PR/Public Relations, Media Management, Journalism, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in editorial work, journalism, and/or press and public relations (experience in the association sector is an advantage).
  • Excellent linguistic expressiveness and editing skills, confidence in style and orthography: You can pinpoint complex issues precisely.
  • Experience with content management systems, ideally WordPress, as well as confident use of MS Office.
  • Experience in managing and further developing social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn). Desirable: Basic Canva skills.
  • Structured, independent, reliable, and cooperative way of working; willingness to familiarize yourself with new areas of knowledge.
