Mission Systems Engineer (m/w/x)

To strengthen our expert team at our customer from the defense and aerospace industry, we're looking for a Mission Systems Engineer (m/w/x) in full-time employment at K-tronik. Tasks:
- Development and implementation of ISR systems, including EO/IR sensors, radar, data connections, and mission computers, with a special focus on integrating systems across air- and ground-based segments - Design and optimization of air- and ground-based system architectures under the guarantee of seamless integration of heterogeneous subsystems (hardware, software, sensors, networks) and utilizing modern technologies - Leadership and support for the integration of mission systems in aircraft platforms, including interface definition, system concatenation, and verification of end-to-end functionality - Conducting laboratory-, ground-, and flight tests to ensure system performance and compliance with specifications, with a special focus on integrated system behavior and interoperability - Ensuring compliance with aviation and regulatory standards throughout the entire development cycle, particularly during the system integration-, qualification-, and acceptance phases - Implementation and optimization of real-time data transmission between aircraft platforms and ground stations, validating integrated data flows, latency, and reliability across the entire mission chain - Diagnosis and troubleshooting of hardware- and software-related problems, both in the laboratory and in the aircraft, as an important interface between development teams during integration- and fault-clearing activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field or comparable training - Experience with aerospace systems, avionics, and software-controlled mission systems, ideally with practical responsibility for system integration and validation - Experience in integrating complex mission systems, including sensors, avionics, and communication systems, into aircraft platforms - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both in development and operational environments - Willingness to perform hands-on work, from software error detection to hardware integration and flight testing - Familiarity with system technology, aircraft certification, and avionics integration is an asset
