Mining Group Safety Executive – Mining Industry – R2.5Mil – R2Mil

RPO Recruitment’s client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Mining Group Safety Executive in the Gauteng Province. This exciting role will regularly review updates from Minerals Council of South Africa, Mine Health and Safety Council and stay abreast of industry norms and leading practices. The role will also be responsible to engage with industry bodies, regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to stay abreast of and influence safety practices. This function must establish and maintain its own safety policies and procedures, which will be aligned with the client’s overall safety strategy. The Mining Group Safety Executive will be responsible for conducting regular safety audits and inspections, identifying and reporting hazards, and implementing corrective actions. The role will also be responsible for providing training and guidance to employees on safety procedures and best practices. The Mining Group Safety Executive will be required to maintain accurate and detailed records of all safety-related activities, including audits, inspections, and training. The role will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including those related to mining, health, and safety. The Mining Group Safety Executive will be required to work closely with the client’s management team to develop and implement safety strategies and initiatives. The role will also be responsible for providing regular safety reports to the client’s management team and other stakeholders. This function must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. The Mining Group Safety Executive will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. The role will also be responsible for performing other duties as required by the client.
