Team/Role Overview: Our Metals Trading team plays a crucial role in Citi's Global Markets business. As a Trader, you will be responsible for overseeing trading books, managing risk, and contributing to the growth of our trading franchise. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee trading books across multiple metals products • Manage risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements • Contribute to the growth of our trading franchise through strategic decision-making and market analysis • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for revenue generation and driving business development • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement trading strategies • Stay up-to-date on market trends and regulatory changes, adapting your approach as needed • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our metals products and markets, using this knowledge to inform strategic decisions • Work closely with the Metals Trading desk to ensure seamless execution of trades and effective risk management • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity • Participate in training and development programs to stay current on industry trends and best practices • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the metals trading community, leveraging these relationships to drive business growth and identify new opportunities. Requirements: • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred • At least 5 years of experience as a trader in metals products, with a track record of success and strong analytical skills • Strong understanding of metals markets, including market trends, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and managing competing demands • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions • Experience working with trading platforms, risk management systems, and other financial technology tools • Certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Market Technician (CMT) is preferred.
