Paragon Talent Solutions, a boutique recruitment organisation in Control Systems Engineering has been engaged to assist an organisation who manufacture, design and deliver electrical and automation solutions to a broad client base. Due to client demand, two opportunities have become available for MES Engineers.

These are permanent positions and can be based out of any major city in Australia. My client offers a hybrid work arrangement where you can expect to work from their office, their customer sites and from home.

As an MES Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, configuring, and delivering Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions for industrial automation projects. You’ll collaborate with engineering teams and clients to integrate MES with plant systems and deliver high-performing, compliant solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design & Configure MES solutions to meet client requirements, including workflows, data models, and reporting dashboards
• Develop system specifications, functional design documents, and configuration standards
• Integrate MES with PLC/SCADA/DCS systems and enterprise platforms (ERP, LIMS, etc.)
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during design, build, testing, and commissioning phases
• Assist with MES upgrades, enhancements, and rollout across client sites
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored automation solutions
• Analyse production data to identify optimisation opportunities and efficiency gains
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Deliver end-user training and provide ongoing technical support

This is an exciting period for my client who are currently very busy and is in high demand from their customers. These positions would suit MES or a Control Systems Engineers who are very competent on MES technologies and can integrate these into SCADA and PLC products. Depending on experience, the successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $120 - $150K plus super plus bonus.

Your Experience

To be considered for these positions, you will possess:

• A Degree in Electrical, Automation, Computer Science, or related engineering discipline
• Proven experience in MES design, implementation, and support
• Hands-on experience with MES platforms such as: Rockwell FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, AVEVA Wonderware / ArchestrA System Platform, Siemens Opcenter, Honeywell Manufacturing Execution System, Emerson Syncade, AspenTech InfoPlus.21 (IP.21), Ampla (Schneider/AVEVA)
• Strong knowledge of SCADA and PLC systems (e.g. Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider)
• Familiarity with ERP integration (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics) highly regarded
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work across design and commissioning phases
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical teams and clients
