Merchandise Planner - Retail

Description RPO Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Planner to join a leading company in the retail industry. As a Planner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing merchandise and inventory plans to drive sales and optimize profitability. Your ability to analyze market trends, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make data-driven decisions will be key to the success of the company's retail operations. Responsibilities Create and implement merchandise and inventory plans to achieve sales, margin, and inventory turnover targets. Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and promotional activities to identify opportunities and risks. Collaborate with buyers, merchandisers, and other stakeholders to develop and execute merchandise strategies. Develop and maintain accurate inventory forecasts and manage inventory levels to minimize markdowns and maximize sell-through. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sales, margin, and inventory turnover, to identify areas for improvement. Prepare and present regular reports and analysis to management, highlighting performance, trends, and recommendations. Conduct regular store visits to assess merchandise presentation, inventory levels, and customer feedback. Manage and maintain the merchandise planning system, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field. Proven experience as a Planner or in a similar role within the retail industry. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other planning tools. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with merchandise planning systems is a plus.
