Merchandise Planner

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Merchandise Planner with a focus on sales, inventory, and margin forecasting and management. This role will be instrumental in driving profitability through accurate pre-season buys, accurate sales forecasts, inventory optimization, and fostering strong cross-functional relationships with buying, inventory planning, and commercial teams. Responsibilities Sales Forecasting: Analyze historical sales data and market trends to forecast future sales across all product categories, including apparel, accessories, and home goods. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business, including sales history, seasonality, and competitor activity. Utilize this knowledge to create accurate and actionable sales forecasts that inform buying decisions and drive profitable growth. Inventory Management: Manage and optimize inventory levels to ensure the right products are available at the right time, minimizing stockouts and overstocking. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective inventory management strategies that align with business objectives. Margin Forecasting: Analyze historical margin data and market trends to forecast future margins across all product categories. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business, including sales history, seasonality, and competitor activity. Utilize this knowledge to create accurate and actionable margin forecasts that inform buying decisions and drive profitable growth. Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular reporting and analysis on sales, inventory, and margin performance to stakeholders, including senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business, including sales history, seasonality, and competitor activity. Utilize this knowledge to create accurate and actionable insights that inform buying decisions and drive profitable growth. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. 3+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
