Internship: Communication

What will you do?

How do you ensure that 800+ colleagues worldwide know what's happening at Voortman and feel engaged with the organization? With various locations, countries, departments, and groups of colleagues, this is a significant communication challenge. Not every target audience can be reached in the same way, and not every story can be told through the same channel.

As an intern in Communication, you will be fully involved in our communication team. You will be at the heart of the organization and will speak with colleagues from all sorts of departments: from production and engineering to service and sales. You will discover what's going on, gather stories and developments, and contribute ideas on how to bring them to the attention of our various target audiences in an interesting and relevant way. You will work with all sorts of communication forms and content. Sometimes you will write an article or contribute to a magazine, other times you will brainstorm ideas for a video or support the communication surrounding a large internal meeting for hundreds of colleagues. You will constantly consider what you want to communicate, who you want to reach, and which format best suits that purpose.

Specifically, you will among other things:

• gather stories and developments from colleagues from different parts of the organization;

• assist in planning, preparing, and publishing content (text, video, offline materials);

• support the organization and communication surrounding major internal meetings;

• devise new formats and creative ways to tell stories within Voortman;

• explore how we can smartly translate strong internal content into external resources for, for example, employer branding;

You will not do this alone, of course. You will work closely with the communication team and our colleagues from Marketing. Within the broader team, various specialists are present, including those in photography, video, and content creation. This will give you the opportunity to collaborate with different disciplines and discover many facets of the communication profession.

You will be given ample room to contribute your own ideas, take initiative, and try things out. And because you will collaborate with colleagues from across the entire organization for your content, you will truly be at the center of Voortman. A versatile communication internship where you will see a lot of the organization, get to know many people, and above all, create a lot yourself.

We ask

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communication, Creative Business, Journalism, or a similar field;

• You have a professional, engaging writing style and enjoy creating content;

• You are curious, proactive, and easily approach colleagues;

• You have a feel for different target audiences and enjoy thinking about how to best reach them.
