Working Foreman - Renovation and Sustainability

About this legendary job...
As a Working Foreman for the RGS (Result-Oriented Collaboration) department, you will be responsible for the daily management of various maintenance and restoration works on monumental complexes in the city center of Amsterdam and surrounding areas. You will work on challenging projects within a long-term collaboration, where craftsmanship, quality, and preservation of historic real estate are central.

The projects include, among others, painting work, wood rot repair, concrete repair, masonry and joint repair, replacement of zinc and lead work, and glass replacement. You are the connecting link between the execution, subcontractors, and project management. In addition to managing the work, you also enjoy rolling up your sleeves and taking on light carpentry work when necessary.

You will monitor the schedule, ensure timely availability of materials, and maintain an overview of projects. Thanks to your structural engineering knowledge and experience with facade restoration, you ensure that the work is carried out according to schedule, quality requirements, and safety regulations.

Your main tasks are:

• The daily management of carpenters and subcontractors;
• Carrying out light carpentry work where necessary;
• Monitoring and maintaining the project schedule;
• Ordering and managing materials;
• Issuing and checking interim payments to subcontractors;
• Coordinating work in the areas of painting, wood rot repair, concrete repair, masonry and joint repair, zinc and lead work, and glass replacement;
• Monitoring quality, safety, and progress of the work;
• Identifying bottlenecks and proposing practical solutions;
• Maintaining contact with involved parties at the project location.

Requirements:

What makes you our legend?

• You have demonstrable experience as a Working Foreman, Foreman, or Assistant Site Manager within renovation and maintenance projects;
• You have a structural engineering background;
• You have knowledge of facade restoration and restoration work;
• You are a strong organizer and can maintain an overview within complex projects;
• You can motivate employees and guide them towards quality and results;
• You work independently, but are also a true team player;
• You possess a B driver's license and a VCA certificate or are willing to obtain one;
• You are available for at least 32 hours per week.
