Internship Cash Control/ Finance

For our Cash Control team in Rotterdam, we are looking for an intern to participate in daily cash management. You will help with the timely allocation of payments, processing bank statements, and monitoring outstanding items. You will work closely with Credit Control, Invoicing, and Accounts Payable, gaining practical experience with cash application, reconciliations, and working in the ERP system Exact.

Royal Den Hartogh Logistics is an international, leading logistics service provider for the chemical, gas, polymer, and food industries. Our family business has existed since 1920 and has safety and sustainability firmly embedded in its DNA. With 54 locations in 27 countries and over 2,600 colleagues worldwide, we continuously work on smart, future-proof logistics solutions. Our finance team in the Netherlands consists of 20 colleagues, divided among Credit Control, Invoicing, Accounts Payable, and Cash Control – and that's where you, as an intern, will join.

What will you do?

• You will monitor the daily Unallocated Cash: you will keep track of it, follow up on outstanding items, and report the most important KPIs.

• You will investigate and help resolve unrecognized receipts and unmatched payments.

• You will book and process daily bank statements in Exact for multiple bank accounts and entities (incoming and outgoing).

• You will match customer receipts and supplier payments to the correct invoices.

• You will assist with bank reconciliations and identify discrepancies between bank statements and the administration.

• You will contribute ideas for improvements to make allocation and matching more efficient.

The ideal candidate

• You are pursuing a mbo4 or hbo education in a financial field, such as Finance & Control, Business Administration, Business Economics, or Accountancy.

• You are accurate and analytical, and you are comfortable working with Excel and large datasets.

• You have a good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
