(Medior/Senior) Product Designer (m/f/d) with a Focus on UX

Digital. Made Human. Supercharged by AI.

We are SHAPE, a hybrid digital agency headquartered in Hamburg, that combines AI engineering, product design, and software development. For over 15 years, we have been developing digital products and services along the entire customer experience that people enjoy using.

For our Experience Design team, we are looking for a (Medior/Senior) Product Designer (m/f/d) with a focus on UX. You will design apps, platforms, and services for clients from a wide variety of industries, from the initial idea to implementation. Your focus is on UX, but you also consider the entire product and take on UI design when necessary. We work very agilely, in short iterations, and in close coordination with development and clients. Therefore, you will also build prototypes yourself via Vibe Coding to make ideas tangible and testable quickly.

Where you will work:

Preferably, you live in Berlin, Hamburg, Braunschweig, or Husum, or nearby. This way, we can meet in person for workshops, client appointments, or in the office.

Tasks

Your Tasks

• You translate our clients' requirements and product goals into user flows, wireframes, and clickable prototypes for apps and the web.
• You build functional prototypes using Vibe Coding, allowing the team, development, and clients to test something real early on and make decisions faster.
• You plan, conduct user research and usability tests, and translate the findings into concrete design decisions.
• You moderate workshops and design sprints with clients and confidently present your concepts.
• You work in agile teams, continuously coordinate with development, project management, and clients, and quickly adapt solutions to new insights.
• Depending on the project, you also take on UI design, from visual design to the finished screen.
• You contribute to developing design systems and ensure accessibility.
• You use AI tools in the design process and experiment with new workflows where they improve the outcome.
• As a Senior, you take on UX responsibility for entire projects and mentor junior colleagues.

Qualification

What you bring

• At least 3 years of professional experience in UX or digital product design (Medior); for Senior, preferably 5 years or more, ideally in an agency.
• A portfolio that shows how you think: from the problem through research and concept to the tested result.
• Proficient in Figma, including prototyping and working with design systems, as well as a good eye for UI, enabling you to design interfaces yourself.
• Proficient in common AI tools like Claude Code or Claude Design, or similar.
• Technical understanding: You know how apps and web applications are built, can communicate with developers on an equal footing, and implement prototypes yourself using Vibe Coding.
• Experience with agile working methods and a desire for rapid iterations rather than long concept phases.
• Experience with mobile apps (iOS, Android, Flutter) and responsive web applications.
• You can justify design decisions well, even to client decision-makers.
• Curiosity about AI in the design process and a desire to try out new tools.
• Very good German skills for collaboration with the team and clients, plus good English skills.

Benefits

What we offer

• Remote work and flexible working hours, plus home office equipment.
• Projects for renowned clients where you shape the product from the beginning.
• Further training and mentoring for your professional development.
• Company pension scheme, sports membership, as well as vouchers and discounts.
• A team that discusses openly, questions conventions, and makes decisions together in workshops and sprints.
• Pets are welcome in the office.
