Media Designer for Digital and Print Media (m/w/d) - fixed 12 months

The Bertha von Suttner Realschule e.V. association is committed to sustainable improvement of learning and living conditions for students. As part of the project "Societal Cohesion" funded by the German Foundation for Engagement and Volunteering (DSEE), we are professionalizing an innovative concept for school catering that has already been tested and scaling it up to other schools. The goal is to establish school catering as a pedagogical space, strengthen participation, and actively involve marginalized groups. For building the project structure, strategic communication, and professional external representation, we are looking for an experienced person in the field of media design who can conceptually, design, and implement independently.

Tasks

• Eigenverantwortliche Konzeption, Gestaltung und Umsetzung sämtlicher Print- und Digitalmedien des Projekts (u. a. Flyer, Broschüren, Plakate, Präsentationen, Kampagnenmotive, Social-Media-Assets)
• Entwicklung, Gestaltung und technische Umsetzung der Projekt-Website (Informationsarchitektur, Screendesign, Content-Struktur, Umsetzung in einem CMS)
• Konzeption und Umsetzung weiterer digitaler Kommunikationskanäle und -formate (z. B. Social Media, Newsletter, Online-Kampagnen und Ads) inklusive visueller Systematik und technischer Realisierung
• Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung eines konsistenten Corporate Designs für das Projekt und die neue gemeinnützige Struktur
• Gestaltungssichere Umsetzung von Marketing- und Öffentlichkeitsmaßnahmen für unterschiedliche Zielgruppen (Schulen, Partner, Förderer, Öffentlichkeit)
• Professionelle Druckdatenaufbereitung inkl. Reinzeichnung, Preflight, Farbmanagement und Abstimmung mit Druckereien und Dienstleistern
• Steuerung des gesamten Gestaltungsprozesses von der Idee über die Konzeption bis zur finalen Produktion (Print & Digital)
• Schnitt, einfache Animation und Aufbereitung kleiner Videoformate (für Website, Social Media, Präsentationen)
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Projektleitung, Geschäftsführung und externen Partnern sowie optional pädagogisch begleitete Einbindung von Schüler:innen in ausgewählte Gestaltungsprozesse
• Visuelle Dokumentation und mediale Begleitung der Projektentwicklung und Meilensteine

Qualification

• Completed training as a Media Designer for Digital and Print (Field of Study: Design and Technology) or comparable, relevant qualification
• Very extensive, expert-level knowledge in the Adobe applications (especially InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and secure handling of complex layout-, setting- and production processes
• Fundamental, advanced practical experience in pre-press and printing production, including color management, PDF/X standards, preflight checks, proofing, further processing, and production coordination
• High design competence in typography, layout systems, visual communication, and brand building
• Demonstrated experience in conceiving, designing, and technically implementing websites and digital media (screen design, wireframing, implementation using CMS, HTML, CSS)
• Basic knowledge of video editing and simple animation (e.g. with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Express or comparable tools) for creating small motion graphics formats for project communication
• Very self-reliant, structured, and quality-conscious working style with high independence and conceptual ambition
• Creativity, strategic thinking, and a secure eye for target groups and impact
• Communication strength and professionalism in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders
• Ideal experience in the project field, public relations or non-profit/education sector, as well as interest in topics such as education, participation, and societal cohesion

The position is based on TVÖD Bund EG8 St. 2 with 19.5 hours per week, subject to the betterment prohibition and is fixed for 12 months (April 1, 2026 - March 31, 2027).
