About The Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
The Medicolegal Officer is responsible for processing medicolegal requests in accordance with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act (HRIPA) 2022 and Ministry of Health (MOH), Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) and Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital release of information (ROI) policies and procedures.
This position will be working Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm. For more information, please view the Position Description.
Ideal Candidate
Administrative experience within the hospital environment and basic medical terminology, with an understanding of ROI and privacy legislation (HRIPA and/or GIPA) and health record management processes. Capacity to independently and accurately interpret and apply patient privacy and health information policies to day-to-day decision making and to problem solve. Effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate and de-escalate challenging customers and situations. Proven effective written communication skills including the ability to produce formal written correspondence and legal documents on behalf of the organisation.
