Occupational Physician

Job description

Objective of the Position:

To protect and promote the health of collaborators through occupational medical surveillance, prevention of work-related illnesses and accidents, identification of health risk factors, and monitoring of workers' health conditions, contributing to compliance with applicable legal requirements and the organization's management standards.


The Occupational Physician shall provide medical guidance with a preventive focus and maintain the confidentiality of clinical information, generating statistical information and recommendations to support decision-making in Occupational Safety and Health.


General Functions:

  • Responsible for providing occupational medical care and follow-up to collaborators with a preventive focus aimed at protecting, promoting, and monitoring health at work.
  • Conduct medical evaluations, attend to and follow up on cases, identify potential health risks.
  • Generation of preventive programs and health campaigns.
  • Generation and analysis of medical and statistical information to propose preventive and improvement actions.


Specific Functions:

  • Conduct and coordinate pre-employment medical evaluations and issue opinions to the requesting departments, including drug testing. (evaluations conducted / scheduled)
  • Conduct medical consultations and assessments for collaborators requiring care, in accordance with established protocols (consultations attended / requests received).
  • Provide initial medical attention for accidents, incidents, or emergencies occurring at the workplaces and determine, when appropriate, the need for referral (# events attended).
  • Participate in the medical investigation and follow-up of work accidents and illnesses. (# events attended).
  • Design and coordinate prevention activities related to addiction, mental health, stress, communicable diseases, healthy habits, and other applicable health topics (campaigns conducted / campaigns scheduled) according to the program.
  • Conduct and coordinate periodic and follow-up medical evaluations, according to the risks and characteristics of each position. Includes drug testing. (evaluations conducted / scheduled).
  • Comply with and promote policies, procedures, legal requirements, and internal guidelines related to worker health and safety (correction of area findings).

  • Teamwork: collaboration with Recruitment, Health and Safety, Organizational Development, and Operations.
