Medical Technologist - Massena Hospital

Job Title: Medical Technologist Department : Laboratory Services Location: Massena Hospital Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly scheduled hours Schedule: 8-hour shifts, primarily days SUMMARY : As a member of the professional medical team, accurately performs clinical laboratory analyses and examinations by approved department procedures on blood, urine, body fluids and tissues within a published turn around time using a variety of instruments and methods to assist in physician diagnosis and treatment. This includes, but is not limited to, performing and reporting routine and specialized laboratory tests, such as hematology, chemistry, and microbiology, as well as maintaining accurate and detailed records of all tests and results. Additionally, the Medical Technologist will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols, and participating in quality control and quality assurance activities. The Medical Technologist will also be expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
