Medical Laboratory Technicians perform laboratory tests on patient samples to assist in diagnosing and treating diseases. They work in various healthcare settings, ensuring accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze biological samples (blood, urine, tissue).
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot issues.
- Record and report test results accurately and promptly.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with medical staff to interpret results and inform patient care.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- Certification by a recognized body (e.g., ASCP, CSMLS).
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
