Medical Director Emergency Department

Job Description In this permanent full-time role, based at Epworth Richmond, you will lead and role-model the delivery of emergency medicine services to over 30,000 presentations each year. You will be responsible for direct clinical services across thirty-one treatment spaces including two resuscitation bays and a fast-track cubicle area. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services and the Executive General Manager at Epworth Richmond, you will provide leadership, governance, and strategic vision for the Emergency Department. You will also be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care, and for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This role will require you to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including clinicians, managers, and other healthcare professionals. You will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in emergency medicine and to contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures. You will also be required to participate in quality improvement initiatives and to contribute to the development of departmental reports and publications. You will be expected to work flexibly and to be available to work outside of normal working hours as required. You will also be required to participate in on-call and after-hours work as part of the department's on-call roster. You will be expected to maintain confidentiality and to adhere to the department's policies and procedures. You will also be required to participate in professional development activities and to contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
