Job Description

The Defence Ground-Based Air Defence Command (DGLC) is on the verge of a major development. Due to the arrival of new and advanced weapon systems, the organization is growing significantly. This growth requires future-proof housing, infrastructure, and smart solutions in the field of real estate.

As a real estate transition employee, you will play an important role in this. You are responsible for all real estate-related activities within the DGLC Development project and are part of the DGLC Transition Team. Additionally, you represent the end-user within the real estate working group.

Within this working group, organized according to the PRINCE2 project management methodology, you collaborate with Defence, the Central Government Real Estate Agency, and other involved parties on the realization of a future-proof layout of the location.

You are the link between the operational user and the parties responsible for real estate development. You translate operational needs into concrete real estate solutions and ensure that these align with the future deployment of the DGLC.

Your tasks include, but are not limited to:

• representing the interests and needs of the end-user in real estate issues;
• preparing, guiding, and executing projects within the DGLC Development;
• contributing to the realization of modifications to existing real estate and the development of new construction;
• contributing ideas on area development, temporary facilities, sustainability, alternative energy sources, mobility, and accessibility;
• analyzing complex issues, developments, and risks, and identifying potential bottlenecks;
• drafting, reviewing, and explaining advice, proposals, and project results;
• coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders and creating support for proposed solutions.

Within the set frameworks, you have a lot of freedom to independently seek optimal solutions. There is room for creativity, and you are expected to dare to think outside the box.

Job Requirements

You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s working and thinking level and are able to quickly learn new knowledge and subject matter. A specific Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is not necessary; a background in, for example, construction, real estate, facility management, business administration, or project management may be suitable.

We are looking for someone who has:

• experience with project-based work and project management;
• the ability to analyze complex information and translate it into practical solutions;
• advisory skills and the ability to clearly substantiate proposals;
• strong communication skills;
• a collaborative attitude and the ability to connect different interests;
• affinity with technology and high-quality systems.

Experience with the PRINCE2 project management methodology is a pré.

Other Employment Conditions

From 2025, Defence employees will no longer receive holiday pay and year-end bonus as separate payments, but will accrue this monthly through the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB for Defence employees totals 16.33 percent of the salary. With the IKB, Defence employees can decide for themselves when, on what, and how much budget they spend on time, money, or fiscal facilities. This can be up to the maximum of the monthly accrued budget. The IKB can be used for:

• A maximum of 15 percent of the salary can be used monthly for the exchange of the commuting allowance.
• The monthly difference between the contribution to the costs of private transportation for commuting and the fiscal maximum.
• A bicycle for personal use, including bicycle accessories and bicycle insurance.
• A computer that can also be used for work or study, including computer accessories and computer insurance.
• A battery or electrical components for a bicycle.
• The payment of union membership fees.

• A security screening (VGB) is part of the application process.
