Job Description

The current geopolitical situation demands a military force that is always operationally ready and can scale up quickly. As a Technician and Documentation Employee at the Materiel Logistics Command (MatlogCo), within the Packaging & Firefighting Equipment cluster (VERPMLDN), you will directly ensure that the logistical and technical foundation for our materiel is flawlessly in order. Although this cluster manages various vital assortments and oversees, among other things, the maintenance of fire trucks and fire extinguishers, your primary focus lies in the challenging world of packaging for the safe and efficient storage and transport of crucial defense materiel. You will deal daily with complex packaging solutions, various types of advanced dunnage, and robust defense pallets.

Because standard solutions for military deployment rarely suffice, more than half of your work involves technical questions and custom solutions within an extremely competitive market. To ensure theory and practice align perfectly, you won't be exclusively behind your desk; you will regularly travel to units and suppliers on-site to precisely assess exact needs and possibilities.

• You will manage technical documentation and specifications for packaging materials.
• You will update data so that tenders are executed based on the correct conditions.
• You will build item master data and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP.
• You will validate frameworks in consultation with the Senior Technician & Documentation Employee and demand requesters.

Defense offers good secondary employment conditions. Starting in 2025, defense employees will no longer receive their holiday pay and year-end bonus as separate payments but will accrue them monthly through the Individual Choice Budget (IKB). The IKB for defense employees totals 16.33 percent of the salary. With the IKB, defense employees can decide for themselves when, what, and how much budget they spend on time, money, or fiscal facilities. This can be up to the maximum monthly accrued budget.

The IKB can be used for:

• A maximum of 15 percent of the salary can be used monthly for the exchange of commuting allowance;
• The monthly difference between the contribution to the costs of private transportation for commuting and the fiscal maximum;
• A bicycle for personal use, including bicycle accessories and bicycle insurance;
