Are you curious about the dynamic world of the Royal Netherlands Air Force? As a civilian employee at the Air Support Command, you contribute to peace and security with your specialization. You do this together in a team of military personnel, reservists, and civilian employees.

Your role as a civilian employee/composites employee

As a composites employee at the Air Force, you directly contribute to the safety, deployability, and reliability of our helicopters. You ensure that composite parts and rotor blades are in optimal condition, so that our aircraft can be safely deployed for national and international missions.

You work within a high-quality aviation environment where quality and accuracy are paramount. You perform inspections, repair damage, and ensure that parts meet the strict requirements within military aviation. You work according to established procedures, technical manuals, and quality guidelines.

Your tasks include:

• Performing inspections using tap testing and visual checks on composite components, rotor blades, and the helicopter itself.
• Repairing rotor blades and parts
• Applying repair techniques such as: wet lamination of fiber cloth, bonding parts, vacuum curing
• Carefully documenting performed work in the administration

No day is the same within this role. You work independently or together with your team on these complex maintenance issues. Craftsmanship, collaboration, and continuous improvement are central to your team.

Working in aviation requires a precise and structured approach. You have an eye for detail, work carefully, and understand that quality always comes first. Additionally, you are a true team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues inside and outside your department.

Job requirements

This is what you bring to your new role:

• Completed MBO vocational training in a technical direction
• Previous training or experience with composite processing is a plus
• Affinity with composite materials and technical work
• You can read and interpret technical drawings
• You master technical English
• You are accurate, which is of great importance in aviation.
• You are a team player and have strong communication skills

Experience in aviation or with composite processing in an aviation environment is not required, but it is a plus.
