Mechanical Superintendents - Heavy Oil (upcoming 2026 position)

Position Overview We are seeking experienced and motivated Mechanical Superintendents to join our team for an upcoming Heavy Oil project, anticipated to commence in 2026. As a Mechanical Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing all mechanical aspects of the project, ensuring that work is completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is a crucial role within our organization, requiring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities * Supervise and coordinate all mechanical construction activities, including piping, equipment installation, and HVAC systems. * Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, and schedules. * Monitor and manage the work of subcontractors, providing guidance and support as needed. * Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and safety compliance. * Identify and resolve any technical issues or challenges that arise during construction. * Manage project budgets and track expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination. * Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations. * Prepare and submit progress reports, as required. * Attend project meetings and provide updates on mechanical construction activities. Qualifications * Proven experience as a Mechanical Superintendent in the heavy oil industry. * Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, equipment installation, and HVAC. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. * Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. * Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. * Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and track expenditures. * Experience with safety regulations and procedures. * A valid driver’s license. * Relevant certifications (e.g., Journeyman certificate) is an asset.
