Mechanical Fitter - Manufacturing

Job description

Our client, a leading beverage manufacturer, big on safety, quality, culture, and continuous improvement, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to support their production team on a short-term project.

What's on offer:

*Potential 6-8 week assignment

*Base rate of $50.90ph + travel allowance

*Rotating fortnightly shifts (6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm, Mon-Fri)

*Great environment | Hands-on role in a high-performing manufacturing team

*Onsite bar for a chinwag after shift

Key Responsibilities:

*Preventative and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment

*Breakdown response - troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues under pressure

*Support electrical team with fault finding and maintenance

*Seaming and packaging machine upkeep to minimise downtime

*Complete accurate job documentation, work orders and maintenance logs

*Escalate and address safety, quality, or hygiene issues promptly

*Participate in continuous improvement by identifying and implementing maintenance process improvements

*Ensure compliance with safe work procedures, isolation (LOTO), and workplace hygiene standards

*Collaborate with other shifts and teams to ensure smooth handover and continuity of operations

*Proactively seek out opportunities to improve preventative maintenance routines, update instructions, and remove error traps

*Apply problem-solving and solution-finding skills under pressure

About You:

*Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent)

*Strong maintenance experience in fast-paced manufacturing environments

*Packaging machinery experience essential; seaming experience highly desirable

*Beverage manufacturing background advantageous

*Ability to think critically, troubleshoot quickly and keep production moving

*Strong focus on teamwork and problem-solving mindset - not just fixing breakdowns, but actively improving systems
