Mechanical Engineering Expert Remote

Micro1 is looking for Mechanical Engineering Experts for an international AI Training project focused on mechanical engineering, physical modeling, simulation, technical analysis, and Python.

The role is intended for engineers with solid experience in mechanical engineering, engineering simulation, and computational modeling, who can create, solve, verify, and validate complex technical problems used for training AI models.

• You will solve and validate mechanical engineering problems related to design, analysis, simulation, testing, and R&D.
• You will transform physical and technical requirements into analytical or computational models.
• You will create or modify:
• • geometry;
  • meshes;
  • materials;
  • loads;
  • boundary conditions;
  • contacts;
  • constraints;
  • solver inputs.
• You will perform analyses such as:
• • structural;
  • thermal;
  • dynamic;
  • fatigue;
  • buckling;
  • vibration;
  • multiphysics.
• You will verify if the models and results meet the physical requirements and design constraints.
• You will use Python to automate the preparation of models, simulations, and analyses.
• You will be able to work with:
• • parameter sweeps;
  • optimization;
  • post-processing;
  • verification;
  • simulation workflows.

This is a strongly coding-oriented role.

Candidates must have practical experience with Python and with using coding agents in their technical workflow.

One of the following is required:

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering field;

or

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering + minimum 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in:
• • mechanical design;
  • engineering analysis;
  • simulation;
  • testing;
  • R&D.

• Solid knowledge of applied mechanics and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
• Experience in developing solutions:
• • analytical;
  • computational;
  • simulation-based.
• Practical experience in Python.
• Experience with coding agents used in technical work.
• Ability to interpret and validate complex engineering results.
• Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Experience with one or more of the following tools is relevant:

CalculiX, Gmsh, Elmer, FEniCSx, CadQuery, OpenSCAD, OpenFOAM

or other similar programmatically accessible / CLI-based engineering tools.

Experience with a specific software from the list is not mandatory.

Tools such as are also relevant:

NumPy, SciPy, SymPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Jupyter

as well as:

• CAD APIs;
• meshing APIs;
• finite-element libraries;
• optimization packages;
• other scientific or engineering libraries.

It is not mandatory to know every library mentioned.

Micro1 displays a range of $80–$150/hour for this role.

However, the project structure is output-based: experts are paid for tasks that meet project specifications and are accepted.
