Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing

RPO Recruitment's client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Epping, Cape Town.
The purpose of this position is to provide essential technical knowledge and apply advanced engineering techniques across a broad range of engineering assignments.

Responsibilities:

• Design of industrial machines, sub-components, sheet metal parts, weldments, and large-scale assemblies

• Generate detailed drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)

• Prepare manufacturing and assembly instructions

• Conduct quality assurance on mechanical work executed

• Maintain and update tasks on the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Liaise with departments to address mechanical failures and identify solutions

• Drive preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives

• Compile failure analysis and task reports

• Support continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

• BSc/B.Eng./B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum 8 years' experience in a maintenance or production environment

• Proficient in computer-aided design and engineering software

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance setting

• Proven leadership and project management skills

• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical control systems is advantageous
