Mechanical Engineer
Job description
About the Opportunity
Industry: Aviation Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) and Aerospace Engineering. Sector: Aircraft systems engineering, component maintenance, and technical support for civil aviation operations.
Primary job title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Remote (India) — fully remote role supporting engineering, maintenance and certification teams across sites.
Role & Responsibilities- Design and validate mechanical components and assemblies for aircraft and related systems using CAD and FEA tools, ensuring compliance with airworthiness requirements.
- Create, update and control engineering drawings, BOMs, repair schemes and maintenance documentation for MRO operations.
- Perform stress, fatigue and tolerance analyses; apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up practices to verify fit, form and function.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause investigations for in-service failures; define corrective actions and engineering change implementations in SAP PM.
- Coordinate with regulatory and certification teams to ensure repairs and modifications meet DGCA/EASA/FAA guidelines and prepare technical reports for approvals.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives—cost reduction, process standardization, reliability improvements—and mentor junior engineers.
Must-Have
- Hands-on experience with CAD and FEA workflows for mechanical design and validation in aviation or industrial environments.
- Proven ability to produce manufacturing-ready drawings, BOMs and maintenance/repair documentation with GD&T application.
- Practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance processes, repair techniques and regulatory frameworks (DGCA/EASA/FAA).
- Experience integrating engineering changes into maintenance systems (SAP PM) and supporting shop-floor execution with vendors.
Preferred
- Experience with composite structure repairs, landing gear or primary aircraft systems and MRO workflows.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASNT Level II, aviation maintenance engineering credentials) or exposure to certification activities.
- Fully remote role with flexibility to collaborate across multiple time zones and regional sites in India.
- Opportunity to work on aviation MRO projects, cross-functional certification tasks and continuous upskilling in aerospace engineering.
- Support for professional development and certification reimbursement for role-relevant courses.
This role is ideal for a mechanically minded engineer who wants to apply CAD/FEA and MRO expertise to aircraft systems, drive reliability improvements, and support airworthiness compliance—working remotely while influencing technical outcomes across maintenance operations.
