Materials Planner

The Materials Planner is responsible for managing material requirements with suppliers through the use of inventory control systems and planning tools, minimizing the risk of production disruptions and ensuring material availability to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Essential Job Functions Process and analyze supplier releases. Review material coverage considering on-hand inventory, in-transit shipments, and production requirements. Work closely with Inventory Control Systems and Planning Tools to ensure accurate forecasting and minimize stockouts or overstocking. Ensure material availability to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations by monitoring and managing inventory levels, lead times, and supply chain risks. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve material-related issues. Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and quality standards. Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fill rate, inventory turnover, and days inventory outstanding (DIO).
