Job description
Description of the post
The position is attached to the medical physics group of DDIAG, composed of five medical physicists. Your mission is part of a project aimed at setting up a follow-up protocol for patients who have received, during radiology or interventional cardiology procedures, a cutaneous dose that may induce deterministic effects. From a certain threshold dose, tissue reactions can appear, ranging from transient erythema to more severe skin lesions (localized alopecia, dry or moist desquamation, or even necrosis in extreme cases).
During your internship, you will estimate the maximum dose received by the skin based on data provided by imaging intervention installations, in order to better identify high-risk patients and trigger appropriate clinical follow-up. To do this, you perform measurements and calculations in the operating room based on Monte Carlo methods.
You possess solid knowledge of applied dosimetry in the medical field (These knowledge can also be acquired at the beginning of your master's degree).
