Master's Thesis: Concept for Extending an Electrolyzer to Generate Hydrogen Derivatives

At Moehwald, a PEM-electrolysis test stand is operated as part of development projects. The goal of the thesis is to develop a process engineering concept that utilizes the hydrogen generated during operation in a meaningful way. To achieve this, various procedures for CO2 removal, methane, methanol, and/or ammonia production will be initially compared and evaluated. Subsequently, the best-rated procedures will be integrated into a comprehensive system concept, taking into account the existing test stand and infrastructure. Finally, components/procedures will be implemented as part of a concept study and integrated into the existing test stand.
