Master Planner, Planning and Scheduling

Job description



We are looking for a Master Expert in planning and scheduling to lead the planning and scheduling of Canadian operations at Vention. This role is essential to ensure a smooth execution.

As the direct report to the Director of Operational Excellence, you will be responsible for the master production schedule while intervening at all levels of the organization— from engaging with field teams to influencing strategic discussions and supporting client commitments. You will have the responsibility of balancing demand, capacity, and material availability to ensure reliable results, while promoting efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This role also includes using planning levers to optimize performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time in full (OTIF), same-day shipping, and average shipping time. You will pilot the automation of planning processes to improve speed and visibility, and collaborate with project management on initiatives to ensure alignment between long-term projects and daily execution.

Main Responsibilities

Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop, manage, and maintain the master production schedule by aligning customer orders, forecasts, and operational capacity.
  • Direct scheduling activities to balance client demand with production constraints and supply chain limitations.
  • Establish and enforce a daily, weekly, and monthly planning cadence, responsible for operations and supply chain to achieve just but ambitious objectives.
  • Use scheduling levers to optimize KPIs such as OTIF, same-day shipping, and average shipping time.

Coordination with Clients and Sales Team

  • Act as a point of contact for planning and scheduling for sales and clients, ensuring realistic and transparent commitments.
  • Communicate proactively on order status, timelines, and risks, while maintaining client trust.
  • Balance commercial priorities with operational realities to preserve both service level and efficiency.

Alignment with Operations, Supply Chain, and Logistics

  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and logistics to ensure the schedule is realistic and aligned with material availability and production capacity.
  • Coordinate with logistical suppliers to ensure punctual and reliable outbound shipments.
  • Support planning activities aimed at improving OTIF and performance in executing orders.

Automation and Continuous Improvement

  • Pilot the automation and digitization of planning processes to increase speed, precision, and visibility.
