Job description

You think in Listings, Conversion Rates and Platform Mechanics?

You want not only to list products on marketplaces, but to understand why they sell – and how to systematically move them forward?

You enjoy digging deep into data, Seller Central, Excel logic and marketplace processes, and solving problems independently?

Then you're a perfect fit for OTARO.

We're not looking for a Marketplace Manager, but someone with ownership, analytical thinking and operational strength who shapes, optimizes and scales our presence on Amazon and other marketplaces.

About us – OTARO

OTARO is a rapidly growing D2C sports brand in the ski, tennis and paddle areas.

We develop functional, thought-out products with clear, urban design and sell them consistently digitally – through our own online shop as well as marketplaces like Amazon, Decathlon and Otto.

Marketplaces are not a secondary channel for us, but a central growth driver. That's where you come in: You ensure that our products are visible, properly listed and their full sales potential unfolds.

Tasks

Your Mission

You're the operational and strategic head for our presence on Amazon and drive the expansion to other platforms (e.g. Amazon, Otto, Decathlon). Your focus is not on managing, but on optimizing: You ensure that our listings perfectly convert, product data are neatly structured and technical problems in Seller Central are immediately resolved. You work deep into the data, recognize market trends and use complex Excel structures to roll out our products internationally.

  • Listing & Content: Creation and SEO optimization of product titles, bullet points and A+ content for maximum visibility and conversion.
  • Data & Flat Files: Setup and maintenance of complex article data (variants, attributes) via Excel inventory files (Flat Files) – also for international markets.
  • Troubleshooting: Independent resolution of error messages, blocked ASINs and communication with the seller service.
  • Marketing & Sales: Planning of deals (Prime Day, Black Friday) and briefing creation of high-converting image material.
  • Research: Analysis of competitors, reviews and market niches to identify new product potential.

Qualification

We're looking for a marketplace pro who can start operating immediately. General e-commerce experience isn't enough – you must know the mechanisms of marketplaces like Amazon in detail.

  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of operational work directly in Amazon Seller Central. You know the backend inside and out - for example, through work at an Amazon agency or as a seller yourself.
  • Excel Competence: Handling SVERWEIS, pivot tables and especially Amazon Flat Files for mass processing is routine for you.
  • Languages: German on a native speaker level
  • Education: Optional completed training (e.g. commerce clerk) or comparable studies.Mindset: You work structured, data-based and persistently when marketplaces build technical hurdles. You proactively update yourself to new marketplace features.

Benefits

  • 100% Remote / Work from Anywhere: As long as the results are satisfactory and the internet is stable, you have free choice – whether at home office in Germany or as a digital nomad worldwide.
  • Responsibility: You manage our most important sales channel independently and with full responsibility.
  • Dynamism: A young team, fast decision-making paths and the opportunity to build new marketplaces from scratch.Innovation: We use modern tools and quickly react to market changes.
  • Bonus payment upon annual target achievement

Please refrain from a standard application letter. Use the free text field in the application to answer the following three questions, so that we can assess your practical experience:

  1. How do you specifically handle it when you need to change a complex parent-child variation retrospectively and the simple upload error occurs?
  2. Which Amazon tool (e.g. Helium10, JungleScout, DataDive) do you standardly use for keyword research and listing optimization, and why?
  3. Describe briefly your toughest
