Job description

In a nutshell

As an online supermarket, the heart of our business is, of course, the Picnic App. The Category Management team ensures that our digital shelves are perfectly stocked with the best local and international products – always fresh and at the best prices.

As a working student (m/f/d), you are the operational backbone of this team, gaining deep insights into e-commerce and the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector. You will dive deep into data, support assortment planning, and ensure that our products are optimally presented in the app. You will work closely with our Category Managers as well as cross-functional teams (such as Supply Chain and Marketing), maintain important master data, and help ensure that our app is always perfectly maintained for our customers. With your analytical thinking and smart automation tools, you will also make our processes a little bit better every day.

What awaits you

  • Support in daily business: You will assist our Category Managers with operational and administrative tasks in the daily e-commerce routine – from listing and delisting products to checking data sheets.
  • App & Content Maintenance: You will be jointly responsible for the in-app content of your product categories. You will ensure that item descriptions, images, and promotions are always up-to-date and bring a smile to our customers' faces.
  • Data & Analyses: You will evaluate sales figures, customer feedback, and market trends, identify patterns, and help the team make data-driven decisions for assortment optimization.
  • Supplier & Stakeholder Communication: You will support the preparation and follow-up of supplier discussions and work cross-functionally with teams such as Supply Chain and Customer Success.
  • Project Work: You will have the opportunity to take on your own overarching projects to improve our tools and processes, thus actively contributing to the company strategy.

What you bring to the table

  • Advanced Bachelor's degree or currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business Administration, E-Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or a comparable field of study.
  • A keen eye for detail, strong logical reasoning skills, and a natural curiosity to look behind the scenes and solve operational puzzles.
  • Excellent organizational skills, a proactive attitude towards taking responsibility, and experience in handling daily workflows.
  • A genuine affinity for the food industry and enthusiasm for working with new software and automated systems.
  • Time to support our team for 16 - 20 hours per week.
  • Fluent German and English skills.

What you can look forward to

  • Get started with us: Become part of our international team in an environment that fosters real growth and an "Act like an Owner" mentality. With us, you have the chance to drive projects independently, test new ideas, and directly experience how your work makes an impact in our fast-growing company.
  • Catering: Enjoy a fresh, complimentary breakfast and lunch in our office every day, along with plenty of snacks and fruit for an energy boost.
  • Unforgettable Moments: From our legendary annual ski trip to Christmas parties and performances by our own Picnic band: We celebrate our successes together.
  • A Modern Workspace: Our newly renovated office is designed for collaboration and offers flexible working hours and 30 days of vacation (for a 40-hour week).
  • Well-being & Balance: We offer professional support for your mental health with OpenUp. And thanks to our dog-friendly office, your four-legged companion is welcome by arrangement.
  • The Basics: We provide everything for your success – including a laptop and access to exclusive discounts (Corporate Benefits) for travel, technology, and much more.
  • Sustainability at the Core: Be part of the revolution. You will contribute to a greener future – through our 100% electric fleet and our supply chain that reduces food waste.
  • Attractive Compensation: As a working student, you will earn €14.75/hour (Bachelor) or €15.50/hour (Master) and gain exciting practical experience.
Feel free to send us your application in English if you already have an English version ready.
