Job description
Marketing Associate – Special Projects & Events
Permanent contract · Full-time · Berlin (HQ)
Our mission for you
You will build the channel through which trawa meets the industrial mid-market: more than 30 trade fairs, congresses, and roundtables per year, from the five-day flagship trade fair to a specialist congress in six square meters. You will have a say in which ones take place, manage them, and be accountable for the results.
It doesn't stop at the booth. You'll build the landing page, promote the events via Paid and Content, and write the LinkedIn post for trade fair week. In a short time, you will know the entire process from booth space to opportunity in CRM — a breadth that a large marketing team cannot offer you.
Europe's B2B sector spends over 200 billion euros annually on energy. The time to decarbonize this market and increase our brand awareness is now.
The Team
Next to you are Content, Growth, and Product Marketing — events are the channel where all three converge.
At the same time, you will be closer to Sales than most marketing roles. Sellers will also be at the booth at every trade fair, and the value of an event only materializes when conversations turn into appointments. You will continuously coordinate with Sales, SDRs, and Revenue Operations.
Your Responsibilities
You own the event calendar. Which trade fair, which format, which budget. You plan the year, calculate every event, and cancel if the numbers don't add up.
You build the presence. Booth space, booth construction, graphics, technology, logistics. You negotiate with trade fair organizers and service providers, meet deadlines, and are present at the booth yourself on-site.
You turn booth days into appointments. Invitation campaigns, participant lists, matchmaking, pre-scheduling of appointments. Afterwards: lead capture, follow-up, and handover to Sales according to a clear SLA.
You measure your own work. You build landing pages, forms, HubSpot workflows, lead tagging, and reporting yourself — and report MQLs, pipeline, and signings per event against plan.
You don't stop at events. Newsletters, LinkedIn, PR, and in-house formats are part of it, up to guerrilla experiments like direct mail campaigns or OOH. What works, we repeat.
Who we are looking for
One to four years of B2B marketing experience with a focus on events or trade fairs, preferably with a connection to the German mid-market
You are extroverted: You approach people at the booth instead of waiting for someone to stop by. Many conversations a day energize you
You maintain an overview when a dozen service providers and several trade fairs are running in parallel – and escalate in a timely manner
You think commercially and evaluate an event based on the pipeline it generates
You build your landing pages, forms, and reporting yourself
Bias for Action: rather test and measure quickly than conceptualize for a long time
Native German speaker, good English
Based in Berlin or willing to relocate, willingness to travel during trade fair season, and a driver's license
Your first 90 days:
After six weeks: Onboarding
You have understood trawa's business model, product, and target audience in detail and have met all relevant stakeholders in Marketing and Sales.
You have taken over the current event portfolio, know every open item and every deadline, and have documented the processes.
You have been on-site at all trade fairs that took place during this period, have identified concrete improvements, and have taken on initial responsibility.
In the third month: Ramp-up
You will be responsible for your own Key Results in the new planning cycle and will be measured by the results achieved.
You have drawn up the plan for the coming half-year, calculated every event, and submitted a proposal for decision.
A reusable process is in place: preparation, activation, lead capture, follow-up — comprehensible enough that someone else could execute it.
Why us?
Shape the future of the energy industry with us and drive projects independently that have a real impact on our products, our customers, and the environment.
Your Impact: Every trade fair brings us into contact with companies whose energy costs we can reduce and whose consumption we can decarbonize.
Scope for Development: Event marketing at trawa is under development. You are not inheriting ready-made structures, but establishing them.
Flexible Working: A beautiful office in Berlin with a vibrant company culture awaits you. Home office and flexible working hours are possible, and 30 days of vacation support your work-life balance.
Attractive Benefits: In addition to a competitive salary, you will receive meal vouchers, an Urban Sports membership, plenty of free snacks, and a personal training budget.
Personal Development: Training days, an annual L&D budget, and coaching sessions via Sparrks.
Diversity and Inclusion: Everyone is welcome here. We are committed to an inclusive workplace that values diversity and encourage people of all genders, ages, sexual orientations, ethnic and social backgrounds, as well as physical or neurodiverse diversity to apply.
If you think strategically, are operationally strong, and enjoy taking responsibility, apply now! Even if you don't meet all the requirements 100%: We are open to personalities with potential and passion.
