Map Analyst

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Map Analyst to work on improving the map and enhancing it with up-to-date attributes generated by ML models and other available datasets.
You will work closely with senior map analysts and engineers, learning best practices while contributing to high-quality map outputs.

The Must-Haves:

• Good understanding and experience with cartography and GIS analysis;
• BS or MS degree in Geodesy, Cartography, Geomatics or equivalent;
• Experience with QGIS or other related GIS technologies;
• Basic understanding of navigation engine concepts (components/structure) or a strong willingness to learn quickly;
• Fluency in English;
• Growth mindset: fast learner, adaptable to change, detail-oriented;
• Time management skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment;
• Exposure to integrating AI methodologies into geospatial workflows.

The Nice-to-Haves:

• Good knowledge and understanding of the OpenStreetMap environment and structure;
• PostgreSQL experience;
• Ability to work with the community developed tools (osmosis, OSMCha, Overpass);
• Experience with improving OSM data for navigation purposes using JOSM or iD editor.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

• Analyze the map completeness and quality using internal GIS tools;
• Follow established QA processes and continuously learn to improve productivity and quality;
• Oversee vendor activities to ensure compliance with delivery schedules, offering targeted feedback in order to achieve the requested quality;
• Support the team by identifying and suggesting ways to develop automated processes;
• Create and update technical documentation relevant to the project;
• Manipulate various data types by applying GIS solutions;
• Contribute actively to planning and brainstorming sessions by identifying key issues and proposing effective solutions.
