Manufacturing Process Engineer

Description of the position

To assume technical responsibility for the assembly line:

• Led and/or participate in industrialization projects in defined areas of expertise, focused on design, construction, installation, and modification of manufacturing and assembly equipment.
• Ramp-up (ramp-up) of the line to series production.
• Support and implementation of production improvements.
• Problem resolution.
• Quality planning (P-FMEA, control plan, relevant documentation for production, special characteristics).
• Change management.

The responsibilities of this position are divided into 4 areas:

Industrialization:

• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles in existing processes.
• Contribute process knowledge to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities.
• Develop and maintain APQP documents such as PFMEA and flowcharts.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including Setup and Work Instructions.
• Lead and provide information for the specification, design, construction, and launch of new processes.
• Lead the purchase and installation of new equipment.
• Prepare and track project schedules and budgets.
• Be the main contact with machinery or equipment suppliers.

Optimization:

• Monitor productivity and improve/stabilize manufacturing KPIs (Technical Availability, Rejection Rate, Scrap, Downtime, CPKs, Cycle Time).
• Meticulous problem resolution using 5-Why, Shainin, 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, SCIP, and PDCA.
• Support safety and quality activities for the assigned line using 6S.
• Execute standards on the production floor, providing support to operations.
• Develop, maintain, and support procedures, instructions, and training materials (PQI, CP, CO).
• Define measures to close the gap against the Value Added (VA) target and implement actions (Cost Engineering and Benchmarking).

Quality Planning:

• Review and update P-FMEA; serve as an interface with the FMEA moderator.
• Create and update control plans.
• Define and manage special characteristics.
• Implement the Dummies standard.
• Create and review process control cards and flowcharts.
• Create and evaluate capacity studies.
• Create inspection and acceptance documents.
• Plan and implement firewalls.
• Present quality planning documents during audits/client visits.
• Execute quality planning.

Manufacturing Planning:

• Responsible for achieving all relevant KPIs in their area (e.g., OEE, productivity, defect costs, investment costs).
• Planning, tracking, and budgeting for MAE and capital expenditures; purchases (preparation of functional specifications).
• Change management at the product level, including plant enablement, ramp-up/stabilization, and software updates/maintenance.
• Collaboration on new projects/equipment SE and coordination in the IPN network.
• Define, validate, release, and install processes and equipment according to Bosch standards (online integrations, new projects, participation in QGCs, DFM).
• Create work instructions, production, and testing, as well as standard process data sheets.
