Managing Quantity Surveyor - Major Infrastructure Scheme | Leicester An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a complex, high profile infrastructure project local to Leicester. This appointment offers authority, visibility, and influence within a high-performing business unit driving critical transport improvements across the West Midlands. Role Overview The Managing Quantity Surveyor will hold full commercial responsibility for the management of a major infrastructure scheme, working closely with the Project Manager, Design Team, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. Key Responsibilities: • Manage and control project costs, ensuring that the project is delivered within budget. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. • Provide commercial advice and guidance to the Project Manager and other team members. • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, ensuring that the project remains on track. • Collaborate with the Design Team to ensure that design solutions are commercially viable and aligned with the project's objectives. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the project's scope, schedule, and budget. • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards. Requirements: • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. • Chartered status or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS). • Proven experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or similar role, preferably within the civil engineering or construction industry. • Strong commercial and financial management skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously. • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
