We are looking for a Managing Principal - Software Engineering & Architecture to lead and develop our software engineering expertise, while supporting our clients in their most complex transformations.

This technological leadership role revolves around three essential dimensions: Engineering Leadership, Architecture & Transformation, and Client Development.

As a Software Engineering Chapter Lead, you will define technical orientations, strengthen engineering standards, and support the development of our community of Tech Leads, architects, and senior engineers.

You will have close proximity to technologies and project delivery, while collaborating with high-level decision-makers at our clients to structure their transformations, influence their technological choices, and develop new opportunities for Capco.

What you will do

Engineering & Chapter Leadership

• Lead and develop our software engineering community by defining standards, principles, and best practices.
• Support, coach, and upskill tech leads, architects, and senior engineers, while contributing to expertise development.
• Promote a culture of engineering excellence, technical accountability, and continuous improvement.

Hands-on Architecture & Engineering

• Provide in-depth and operational technical expertise on backend technologies, particularly Java.
• Analyze architectures and technical designs in depth, challenge technological choices, and guide teams towards pragmatic solutions.
• Support technological modernization initiatives around cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Ensure that solutions meet security, scalability, resilience, performance, and observability requirements.

Client Advisory & Business Development

• Develop trusted relationships with CTOs, CIOs, Heads of Engineering, Heads of Architecture, and Product Owners at our clients.
• Constructively challenge approaches and influence our clients' strategic decisions.
• Contribute to the development of commercial proposals and presentations, particularly by defining approaches, architectures, teams, and delivery models.
• Participate in the development of Capco's offerings and client portfolio in the areas of Software Engineering, Architecture, Cloud, and technological modernization.

What we are looking for

You are an experienced leader in software engineering and technology, capable of combining in-depth technical expertise, architectural vision, leadership skills, and a strong client focus.

Your career may have led you to hold positions such as Principal Engineer, Principal Tech Lead, Engineering Lead, Software Architect, or Head of Engineering.

You possess the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience in managing and developing senior engineers, Tech Leads, and/or architects.
• In-depth expertise in software design, distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and modern engineering practices. Particularly with the use of AI applied to the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC).
• Excellent communication skills, in both French and English.

Experience in financial services, banking, or payments is a plus.
