Why This Role Is Important
As an EHS Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for implementing and continuously developing the safety, health, and environmental strategy at the Wittlich site. You will advise managers and employees on all relevant issues, ensure compliance with legal and internal requirements, and manage audits, analyses, as well as training and prevention measures. In doing so, you will actively promote a lived safety and environmental culture.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the implementation of the safety, health, and environmental strategy at the site, including the management, monitoring, and continuous development of all relevant measures
- Strategic consulting and support for management, executives, and employees on all issues of occupational health, safety, and environmental protection, with the goal of sustainably integrating EHS requirements into all business processes
- Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements as well as internal guidelines and standards, including proactive monitoring of implementation and initiation of appropriate measures in case of deviations
- Planning, coordination, and execution of internal and external audits, risk assessments, and accident analyses, including derivation and implementation of sustainable prevention measures
- Development, implementation, and continuous optimization of measures for the active promotion of a sustainable safety and environmental culture at the site
- Conception, management, and further development of training and awareness measures to strengthen EHS awareness and promote safety-conscious behavior
- Coordination and management of cooperation with external authorities, professional associations, and other relevant stakeholders
Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree or comparable specialized degree
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the EHS field
- Initial leadership experience is an advantage
- Training as a specialist for occupational safety as well as additional qualification as an environmental officer for emissions and/or water protection is an advantage
- In-depth knowledge of environmental law, occupational safety legislation, hazardous substances law, and waste and emissions management
- Knowledge in the areas of machine safety, fire protection, and emergency management
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
