The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has transformed into a global leader in Materials Engineering, offering cutting-edge education and world-class research. Since 1991, NTU MSE has led the way in advancing materials engineering, and today, it stands as one of the largest and most influential schools in this field. As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Manager, Research & Partnerships. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic partnerships with industry leaders, research institutions, and government agencies to advance the School's research agenda and foster collaborations that benefit both the academic community and the broader materials engineering sector. This role requires a strong understanding of the materials engineering landscape, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Develop and implement strategic partnerships with industry leaders, research institutions, and government agencies to advance the School's research agenda and foster collaborations that benefit both the academic community and the broader materials engineering sector. • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaborative research projects, joint ventures, and technology transfer agreements that align with the School's research priorities and goals. • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies, and research institutions to ensure successful partnerships and collaborations. • Develop and manage budgets for partnership development and implementation, ensuring effective use of resources and optimal outcomes. • Collaborate with faculty members and researchers to identify and pursue opportunities for collaborative research projects and joint ventures that align with the School's research priorities and goals. • Provide strategic guidance and support to faculty members and researchers on partnership development and management. • Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of partnerships, collaborations, and research projects to track progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making. • Prepare regular reports and presentations for the School's leadership team, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and opportunities for growth and expansion. Requirements: • Master's or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field. • At least 5 years of experience in research partnerships, industry collaborations, or technology transfer, preferably in the materials engineering sector. • Strong understanding of the materials engineering landscape, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities for growth and expansion. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty members, researchers, industry partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
